My Wife..!!!!

Our love story didn't have a perfect start,
after all I wasn't all that smart,
introduced by families over a glass of drink,
that's destiny, is all i can think.....

as we became the bride and groom,
from talking on phone to sharing room,
change that time was the essence of your life,
u took it all, my lovely wife.....

i was always a lazy bum,
turned lucky to have you as my chum,
we laughed and cried and played at night,
your love is what made my life bright.

days n months and years passed,
respect and love is all i have amassed,
on normal days i forget to mention,
you give my life a new dimension.

now u r away for our little wonder,
your absence from my life makes me ponder,
how much I long for your love & smile,
never did i realize all this while.

my loneliness has hit me hard,
without you my life is charred,
waiting eagerly for you, my only one,
A new chapter in my life has begun..........  :-)

Soak No More!!!

Sometimes things just don't look bright,
I have the feeling that its not right,
chaos all over n i feel low,
darkness engulfs me down to the core....
but I say to myself - Soak no more!!!

darkness will be overthrown by light,
things might not change overnight,
for every right thing we might have to fight
this might not be the sweetest folk lore.....
but I say to myself - Soak no more!!!

for more you soak, the more it will rain,
the boat of hope looses coxswain,
it floats aimlessly reaching no shore....
Thats why I say - Soak no more!!!

For if you want to change the system as such,
first bring some goodness in your tiny hutch,
it all starts by vibrating your molecules first,
then you can aim to change the rest,
let others see your thoughts unfurled,
show this world what's in your core,
say to them- Soak no more!!!!

The Democratic Dictator !!!

"A Democracy is the government of the People, for the people and by the People"

We achieved independence in 1947 and it’s been almost 65 years and since then we have a long way. Today India is the largest democracy in the world. We are no longer just a developing country but a global power to reckon with. Today the entire world is aware that India can not be taken lightly.

But the political scenario of the country is something that irks me continuously. The Indian government is definitely by the people but whether it is of the people and for the people is a controversial topic. The political scene of the erstwhile young independent and struggling India was a lot brighter with pragmatic leaders who had put country before self but as we progressed the political will power declined continuously and we came to the brink of dictatorship in mid seventies, some people feel that at that moment it was required. I am no one to assess the conditions during that time as I wasn’t even born at that time. Let’s assume that it was the call of the hour and move on.

Slowly and steadily as India developed the political will power of the Indian politician declined, they started losing the connection between their people. There was not much work that they did and they lost the sympathy of the general public. This led to rise of regional parties, though the chronology of events might not be exact as I say but I strongly feel that emergence of regional parties is due to the disconnect between the national leaders with local population. The presence of these regional parties became so strong that they became the brokers of power.

The politics kept on losing its meaning and today a new kind of political leader has emerged, this leader come into power by means of democracy but once elected prefers to wear the cloak of dictator. Dare not say anything against him or else be ready to burn in the fury of this Democratic Dictator. He prefers not to listen and only act. Anything and everything that has to be done should be as per his directions. He is the sole decision making authority and the party to which he belongs or owns has mere puppets to carry out the directions without fail. There purpose is to reach the higher echelons of power and that is by means of flattering the dictator himself.

Democratic dictator is not bothered about the land or the law of the land. What he says is right and what he says becomes the law. He only answers the questions which he deems fit and prefers to duck out everything else. The development of the people and the country is not on his agenda but he prefers to present himself as the knight in shining armor at the troubled times who preferred to appear only for the sake of people. He does try to silent people by removing their agonies but just force them to sit quite else test them under the pressure of laws. That way there will be no agonies and the rule will be extremely successful. He tries to play as the ultimate king maker at the central and international level especially making the most of the presence of some spineless leadership.

It is most disturbing that we are today having some of the democratic dictators in our country who are doing to much of harm to the country. It is because of these political leaders that the future of India appears dark. The only way is for people to wake up and realize this and throw such people out of the power. That is the only way this country is going to survive.

The Chanakya's chant !!!

Reading has always been a de-stressing activity for me. Books have a magical effect and they take away all the hassles of life away from you (at least till the time you are reading and contemplating about the book). I generally am very choosy about the books i read and generally rely on recommendations of my literati friends (yes I do have some such friends). So needless to say that this was also a suggestion from a very good friend who knowing my taste and interest in politics recommended the same to me.

I had heard about it quite sometime back but had given it a pass earlier. finally i decided to take it up and believe me i was not disappointed at all, in fact i was really happy after reading the book. The book made an excellent read and was well crafted. author deserves an applause for his work. what makes this book stand out is the quality of research that has gone into it. To be very frank Indian authors are not known for the reasearch (this is my personal opinion and some may differ). it is easier to write fiction but what is difficult is to weave the fictional characters around the realms of reality. Well Dan Brown is a mater of this art. however Mr Sanghi also did quite well since he carved a gripping story. though at times you may feel him going slightly overboard in depicting the capabilities of Gangasagar Misra but than you do stop for a second and feel that in the Indian context such characters are very much possible. The narration of Chanakya was even more interesting and highlighted the sharpness of a master politician of yesteryear India.

I am not sure how the book has faired, but i sure am of one thing is that i am going to pick up the another book by the same author 'The Rozabel Line'. If he has put the same amount of effort than i can take a risk of reading it without a second thought.

Overall the book made a nice read and i think its a must read for everyone provided you have an interest in the politics else you will end up getting bored. so make a choice if you want to read it or not but you do than i am sure that will not be disappointed.

Chao!!!!
Hi...

Last 8 months have just zoomed past and i totally forgot that i have a blog...
forgot that i had decided to blog regularly..... maybe this was just like some things that i don't care..... but to be frank i don't want it to be just another thing......... i wan't it to be special. my place, my thoughts, my views and no objections. well so let's have a new beginning.......

So let's start afresh and this time with a little more seriousness.........

first of all let me introduce my self...... i am just a regular middle class Indian guy..... who grew up dreaming to become a cricketer (each and every young girl in India wants to be a miss India and every young boy wants to be a cricketer with exceptions of course). I did play a lot of cricket (in fact played well enough but that will be discussed later) but never took it seriously enough to make a profession out of it. Eventually grew up doing some regular and some interesting stuff like any other boy does during the evolution of growing up.

During the process i joined a wonderful service, married a beautiful girl and now soon to be a father..... there is so much in life that keeps you busy, keeps you on your toes. And there is so much in life that you think and that matters but gets lost in the day to day life. That's when we leave our life in an autopilot, don't care much as to where it's heading. I am at pretty much this juncture in my life where i decided that there has to be a place which i call as mine and is explicitly owned by me.  it is impossible to have such a physical place because of materialistic limitations however no such restrictions apply in electronic world.

so welcome to my place..................

I hope i don't leave it again as there is too much of inertia in me to force me think something extra than the routine chores...... after all its easier to put it off for the next day and difficult to act.

so dear  blog see you soon...........  :-)

The complex life of a simple Guy...!!!

Dear blog......

Its been ages since i was planning to start a blog of my own and finally today i decided to act instead of just putting away things. I was wondering as to what should I name you, how should i refer you as?

well, I am just a regular simple guy and after all you are a reflection of my life which is like any other is complex in nature. that's how i christened you as, "The complex life of a simple Guy!!".

This is the place where I want to be true to myself, open to my thoughts without any restrictions of what people may think or infer. Atleast here i don't want the complexities of life affect me. i will try to write you as often as my complex life permits me. i will enrich you with my thoughts however skewed they may be, i may give vent to my frustration without worrying about the response of anybody. people reading may not like it, or even care but than neither do I.

so thats what i want from you, be my patient listener, the reflection of my inner self.

cheers

Simple Guy
