The Chanakya's chant !!!

Reading has always been a de-stressing activity for me. Books have a magical effect and they take away all the hassles of life away from you (at least till the time you are reading and contemplating about the book). I generally am very choosy about the books i read and generally rely on recommendations of my literati friends (yes I do have some such friends). So needless to say that this was also a suggestion from a very good friend who knowing my taste and interest in politics recommended the same to me.

I had heard about it quite sometime back but had given it a pass earlier. finally i decided to take it up and believe me i was not disappointed at all, in fact i was really happy after reading the book. The book made an excellent read and was well crafted. author deserves an applause for his work. what makes this book stand out is the quality of research that has gone into it. To be very frank Indian authors are not known for the reasearch (this is my personal opinion and some may differ). it is easier to write fiction but what is difficult is to weave the fictional characters around the realms of reality. Well Dan Brown is a mater of this art. however Mr Sanghi also did quite well since he carved a gripping story. though at times you may feel him going slightly overboard in depicting the capabilities of Gangasagar Misra but than you do stop for a second and feel that in the Indian context such characters are very much possible. The narration of Chanakya was even more interesting and highlighted the sharpness of a master politician of yesteryear India.

I am not sure how the book has faired, but i sure am of one thing is that i am going to pick up the another book by the same author 'The Rozabel Line'. If he has put the same amount of effort than i can take a risk of reading it without a second thought.

Overall the book made a nice read and i think its a must read for everyone provided you have an interest in the politics else you will end up getting bored. so make a choice if you want to read it or not but you do than i am sure that will not be disappointed.

Chao!!!!
